Rigging Checks (Don't Leave Without It)

Run through these checks before leaving home. Discovering issues at the beach is frustrating and wastes time. Do these checks the night before or morning of your session.

Packing System Tip

A good packing system saves time and prevents forgotten items. Use bags and labels to organize your gear systematically.

Use Color-Coded Bags
Organize gear by category: Blue bag = rigging tools and spare parts, Red bag = safety equipment, Green bag = personal items (clothes, snacks), Yellow bag = race-day extras. This makes it easy to grab what you need and verify you have everything.
Label Everything
Use waterproof labels or tape to mark bags and equipment. Label your foil settings, mast positions, and rigging preferences. This helps you quickly set up and makes it easy to share settings with coaches or teammates.
Create a Master Checklist
Print or save a master checklist that combines all categories. Check it off as you pack, and keep it in your gear bag. Use the "Copy checklist" buttons above to create your own master list in your notes app.
Pack the Night Before
Don't pack in a rush. Pack the night before your session, run through the rigging checks, and verify everything is in good condition. This gives you time to fix issues or replace missing items.
