CTL (fitness) builds over 42 days - reflects aerobic base and training adaptation.
ATL (fatigue) tracks the last 7 days - shows accumulated stress from recent sessions.
TSB (form) = CTL − ATL - tells you whether an athlete is ready to race or needs recovery.

CTL - Chronic Training Load

A 42-day exponential moving average of daily TRIMP scores. Represents aerobic base and long-term fitness.

ATL - Acute Training Load

A 7-day exponential moving average. Tracks recent fatigue - the short-term toll of hard training.

TSB - Training Stress Balance

TSB = CTL − ATL. Positive means fresh and ready to race. Negative means accumulated fatigue.

TRIMP Score

Duration × ΔHR × 0.64 × e^(1.92 × HRr). Captures session intensity weighted by heart rate reserve.
